where do you teach?

Prenatal yoga helps mothers emotionally, physically, psychologically and spiritually. It also helps baby’s growth. It teaches helpful techniques for labor and it is useful for nursing since we work on shoulder and upper back muscles intensively. For more, please read 25 benefits of prenatal yoga on our blog.

What are your qualifications as a prenatal yoga instructor?

First, I completed 200 hours of Yoga Alliance teacher training to become a yoga instructor. Even this basic training allows us to teach pregnant women, with very limited understanding in my opinion. For this reason, I continued my education journey. I traveled to India to complete another 200 hours yoga therapy training where I learned Ayurveda, nutrition, yo ga for disabled individuals, and prenatal yoga. Here, my period cramps healed completely with a special technique from this Institute, so I decided to learn more techniques for women's needs and discomforts.  I continued to experienced teacher training programs in the same ashram, 300 hours yoga therapy program with detailed techniques and anatomy training. When I started to teach prenatal yoga, because of my unique background I was welcomed to women clinics, OB-GYN offices, and hospitals. In those medical environments, I started to work with gynecologists, doulas, midwives, and attended their pregnancy and birth training many times. I also completed another 60 hours prenatal yoga workshop program with Dr. Iskit who has been teaching prenatal yoga at Memorial Hospitals more than 10 years as a free public service for women health. I became a part of this unique program and had chances to teach conference room full of pregnant women.  I also hold Birthlight Perinatal Yoga certification from United Kingdom.
